RIYADH — As Eid Al-Fitr approaches, the Royal Commission for Riyadh City has unveiled the public transport schedule for the holiday period, aiming to meet the heightened demand from both residents and visitors. This adjustment in transit timings is part of a broader initiative to ensure seamless travel across the city during the festive days.
The Riyadh Metro, a cornerstone of the city's public transport network, will be in service from March 20 to 23. It will operate daily from 11:00 a.m. until midnight. This extended schedule is strategically planned to cater to the bustling activity typical of Eid celebrations, allowing for greater ease of movement throughout the city.
On the bus front, Riyadh's bus services are set to commence on March 20 with operations from 6:30 a.m. to midnight. However, in response to anticipated increased travel needs, from March 21 to 23, buses will start running earlier at 5:00 a.m., maintaining service until midnight. This change is designed to provide additional capacity and convenience to commuters.
Additionally, the on-demand bus service, an innovative transport solution offering personalized routes, will be available throughout the same period, operating from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. The extended hours offer users more flexibility and options to navigate the city during the holiday.
These tailored schedules reflect the city's commitment to improving mobility and ensuring that transportation remains fluid, even during peak periods like Eid. The Royal Commission's proactive approach underscores its role in facilitating efficient urban movement and supporting the vibrant activity that marks Riyadh's cultural celebrations.
