Alerting locals of a growing low-pressure system in the southern Arabian Sea, close to India's western coast, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a weather warning.

This system is supposed to influence the nearby areas, including areas of the United Arab Emirates, thereby bringing erratic weather with probable thunderstorms and heavy rain. Emphasizing public safety and readiness, authorities are closely observing the system to evaluate its possible influence on local weather patterns.

On Thursday October 10, Ras Al Khaimah police reported that challenges linked to the weather had closed a road in the emirate, The Wadi Shawka Road closed when the nearby dam started to flood. The water building up in the dam could have caused drivers to be at risk, hence the dam was closed as a safety precaution, The police announced this decision on their social media platforms, encouraging residents and guests to exercise caution and monitor the weather condition.

Particularly well-known for its steep topography, Ras Al Khaimah can cause flash floods and hazardous traffic conditions in times of strong rain. Though the dam next to Wadi Shawka Road is meant to control water flow and stop floods, the area has been closed since the unexpected rainfall has overwhelmed it. Closely observing the matter helps authorities to guarantee that the dam stays stable and that any more hazards to public safety are reduced.

The region's heavy rain fits a larger weather pattern influencing the UAE. Different portions of the nation suffered heavy showers on the previous day; some even saw mountain waterfalls develop. Particularly vulnerable to flash floods and cascading water during periods of intense rain, the hilly areas of the UAE create beautiful but maybe dangerous situations. In these areas, both residents and visitors have been urged to avoid low-lying areas prone to abrupt water flow in valleys.

Apart from rain, certain UAE regions also recorded hailstorms during the downpour. Particularly when low-pressure systems occur in the Arabian Sea and neighboring areas, the mix of rain, hail, and thunderstorms is usual for the weather systems that can develop at this time of year. Among the abrupt and strong changes these storms can bring are localized floods, poor visibility, and dangerous driving conditions.

Regular public updates are given by the NCM as it keeps an eye on the low-pressure system and its motions. Meteorologists are determining whether the system will intensify and how much rain the UAE would get in the next days. Although the first effects have been noted in northern regions of the nation, such as Ras Al Khaimah, depending on the direction and strength of the weather system other locations could also be impacted.

Local authorities including police and civil defense-are on great alert to handle any possible weather-related crises. Working with meteorological professionals, they are making sure suitable responses to flooding, road closures, and other low-pressure system-related problems are in place. The first concern is still public safety; residents are advised to obey official directions and keep updated about the most recent weather events.
