A series of rains affected multiple regions yesterday ranging from heavy storms to lighter showers, expected to persist today with varying intensities.
Yesterday, the nation experienced a range of rainfall from heavy downpours to light drizzles across various regions. Areas such as Wadi Al Ajili, Wadi Tuwa, and Marbid on the Masafi road saw notable precipitation, alongside Mazari’ Mufout and the Madm-Shoayb road. Meteorologists expect this weather pattern to persist in eastern and southern parts of the country today and tomorrow due to an extension of a surface low pressure system from the east, coupled with a weak upper-level trough.
The National Center of Meteorology predicts today's weather will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy with potential for some cumulus clouds forming in the east and south, likely bringing rain. Nights are expected to be humid into Sunday morning along coastal and inland areas, increasing the chance for fog or light fog formation. Winds are anticipated to be southeasterly to northeasterly, light to moderate in strength but occasionally becoming brisk, ranging from 10 to 25 km/h, reaching up to 40 km/h. Sea conditions are forecasted as slight in both the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.
Tomorrow's forecast is similar-clear skies turning partly cloudy with possible cumulative cloud formation in eastern and southern regions leading to showers. Nighttime humidity will continue through Monday morning across some coastal and interior locales with possibilities of fog or light fog developing. Wind patterns remain consistent from southeast turning northeast at speeds between 10 to 25 km/h, possibly accelerating up to 40 km/h; seas remain calm.
Looking ahead to Monday’s weather conditions: predominantly clear transitioning into partial cloudiness at times especially over eastern and southern areas. As usual during late hours extending into Tuesday dawn, increased humidity could result in fog or light mist formation across selected coastal zones.
