Announcing an extension of the UAE visa amnesty program, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP) has let citizens regularize their visa status until December 31, 2024.

Originally scheduled to end on October 31, this initiative has already assisted thousands of locals in changing their visa circumstances; the government has waived millions in fines for individuals who overstayed.

Reflecting the UAE's dedication to humanitarian ideals, the decision to prolong the amnesty period coincides with the 53rd Union Day commemoration of the country, Maj-Gen Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, the director general of ICP, claims that this extension is not just a show of kindness but also a reaction to the requests of people trying to fix their immigration status, Many offenders are ready to either leave the nation or find job contracts so they may change their residency status while still in the UAE.

As the first deadline drew near, Al Khaili saw a clear rise in applications, suggesting a rising awareness and urgency among those impacted. This extension provides violators with last chance to change their status free from re-entry restrictions or fines. It shows the government's will to meet the needs of people living under difficult conditions so they may protect their rights and defend their families.

Al Khaili cautioned that even with the amnesty program's forgiveness, rigorous policies would be applied beyond the extension time. Those who keep violating residence rules past the new deadline will have penalty reinstated. The ICP also intends to intensify campaigns of inspection to track resident compliance. Recent announcements said that anyone who do not take advantage of this amnesty chance could be put on a no-entry list and face deportation.

Launched by the UAE government in 2007, this current program marks the fourth amnesty effort. Originally meant to last ninety days, the final amnesty in 2018 was further extended for two more months to allow more resident violators looking to regularize their situation without fines. The ICP has set up online platforms, approved typing centers, and physical facilities all throughout the UAE as well as other easily available avenues for residents to apply for the amnesty.

This extension underlines UAE's continuous dedication to helping people who find themselves in challenging immigration circumstances. The authorities are urging locals to seize this special chance to change their residence status in order to prevent the issues resulting from overstaying their visas. Given enough time until the December deadline, impacted people must act quickly to guarantee adherence to residency rules to avoid any future legal problems.

The extended amnesty program is a major tool available to UAE citizens for immigration status correction free from legal consequences or fines. This project reflects the humanitarian nature of the UAE as the nation gets ready for its 53rd Union Day, therefore strengthening the ideals of empathy and support for people trying to find their position in the society. Emphasizing that the window to clear their status is now open until the end of the year, the ICP advises individuals qualified to fully use this chance.
