Sharjah to Waive Traffic Violations Older Than 10 Years
The Sharjah Executive Council approved the cancellation of traffic fines over 10 years old.
In a recent meeting held on Tuesday, the Executive Council of Sharjah announced a decision regarding the cancellation of traffic violations within the emirate. The resolution stipulates that traffic fines recorded by the traffic authority of the Sharjah Police that are over 10 years old from the date of their occurrence will be waived.
According to the decision, the Sharjah Police will charge a fee of 1,000 dirhams for processing the request to cancel these traffic violations. However, certain cases are exempt from this fee, including:
1- Proof of the vehicle owner's death.
2- Evidence that the vehicle owner has been outside the country for a continuous period of no less than 10 years.
3- Vehicles that have been abandoned by owners who cannot be contacted.
