Sharjah Economic Department Launches Instant License Service in a Day

Sharjah's Economic Department introduces a fast-track license service.
Hamad Al Mahmoud: Committed to developing a legislative environment to boost business growth.
The Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) has launched the "Instant License" service, enabling investors and entrepreneurs to swiftly obtain a business license without the need for a founding contract or a lease agreement in the first year.
This initiative aims to allow investors to commence their activities immediately, streamlining processes and reducing the transactional journey for clients, with the objective of boosting economic growth in the emirate.
The department will issue "Instant Licenses" within a single working day, enhancing the investment climate in Sharjah and reducing the number of businesses operating without proper licenses.
All Office Activities Covered
The "Instant License" service includes all office activities that do not require approvals from other entities. It permits a license holder to employ up to three staff members and is issued without the usual documentation required for standard licenses, assisting investors in their first year. Special conditions must then be met in the second year.
Targeting new investors and economic entities wishing to expand into specific activities, the "Instant License" contributes to enhancing the competitiveness of Sharjah.
Through the "Instant License", the SEDD seeks to enable companies to fully benefit from Sharjah's competitive advantages and stimulate the business environment. As the governmental authority responsible for regulating economic activities and supporting economic diversification and sustainable growth in the emirate, it focuses on facilitating business functions, contributing to a better future, developing the investment environment, and enhancing the appeal of strategic economic sectors by providing high-quality services according to world-class standards.
Boosting Business Growth
Hamad Ali Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Chairman of the Sharjah Economic Development Department, stated that under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and the follow-up of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Executive Council, the department has diligently developed a legislative and regulatory environment to bolster business growth and ensure its continuity and sustainability according to the best global practices. This enhances the growth of Sharjah's economy and supports its competitiveness both regionally and globally.
He added that the "Instant License" service is part of Sharjah's economic strategy aimed at supporting economic diversification and sustainable growth in the emirate and aids investors through an efficient and expedited business setup process. This move reflects Sharjah's commitment to consistently developing its business ecosystem and solidifies its position as a global investment hub.
