Saudi-Based AviLease Acquires 77 Airbus Jets at Paris Air Show

AviLease of Saudi Arabia has ordered 77 jets from Airbus, marking a strategic move to strengthen its position in the global aircraft leasing industry.
AviLease, a well-known aircraft lessor in Saudi Arabia , has signed a historic contract with Airbus to buy 77 next-generation aircraft. 22 A350F aircraft and 55 A320neo Family aircraft are part of this important procurement.
The statement, which was made during the first several hours of the 2025 Paris Air Show, was a major step forward for AviLease's goal of being one of the top 10 aircraft lessors in the world.
The investment supports the expansion of Saudi Arabia's aviation infrastructure while putting AviLease in a position to provide its worldwide customers with the newest in fuel-efficient fleet solutions in both the passenger and cargo segments.
AviLease's Aircraft Orders
The deal, which was signed during the Paris Air Show's opening phase, specifies deliveries through 2033.
"In less than two months, AviLease has entered into two major agreements, reflecting its long-term goal of becoming a leading global player and reinforcing its status as a national asset," said Fahad AlSaif, Chairman of AviLease and Head of the Public Investment Fund's (PIF) Global Capital Finance Division.
"These achievements are in alignment with the Public Investment Fund's mission to support Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and the National Aviation Strategy."
"We are pleased to launch an Airbus order book, which strengthens our position as a comprehensive, investment-grade global lessor," said Edward O'Byrne, CEO of AviLease. The delivery of these cutting-edge aircraft enhances our ability to provide airline partners in Saudi Arabia and beyond with contemporary, fuel-efficient fleet options.
"We worked closely with important stakeholders in Saudi Arabia's aviation industry before deciding on the A350F. Strong local ties and demand that supports Saudi Vision 2030 have helped AviLease acquire the aircraft delivery slots required to support the Kingdom's future expansion in air freight.
"With this significant order featuring the all-new A350F and the acclaimed A320neo Family, we are pleased to welcome AviLease as our newest customer," said Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Executive Vice President of Sales for the Commercial Aircraft business at Airbus. While the A320neo Family continues to be the most widely used single-aisle aircraft worldwide, the A350F sets the standard for air cargo with at least 20% less fuel consumption, increased carrying capacity, and longer range.
"This dual order solidifies AviLease's position as a leading lessor and illustrates the wide appeal of our aircraft among lessors and their partner airlines."
The aviation business just revealed last month that it has placed an order for 30 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, expanding its current fleet of 200 aircraft, which as of March 31, 2025, are leased to 48 airlines worldwide.
