The UAE issues a new law for those about to get married
In keeping with the "Abu Dhabi strategy for the quality of family life" and the wise vision of the wise leadership, the Department of Community Development in Abu Dhabi announced the opening of registration for the six initiatives of the Emirati family Growth Program (Nomo), which aims to improve the formation and stability of families.
The program is a part of the Department's continuous efforts to strengthen family ties and assist young Emirati citizens preparing for marriage as well as newlywed families.
The six initiatives are: providing future citizens with an interest-free, easy marriage advance of up to AED 150 thousand; deducting up to $40,000 from the housing loan's value; extending the housing loan's repayment period; extending maternity leave for mothers employed in the private sector; providing newlyweds with rental assistance of up to AED 75,000; and conducting home visits.
The department held a special session where senior officials from the government agencies supporting the initiative, media experts, and other partners were present to announce the beginning of registration. The "Emirati family Growth" program consists of a number of projects designed to give families the assistance they need at different points in their development, from deciding to get married to establishing stability within the family. To improve the integration of efforts between the various entities and achieve the maximum benefit for the beneficiaries, the initiatives have been developed in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority, the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, and the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority.
"We announce the start of receiving applications from those wishing to benefit from the initiatives of the (Emirati family Growth) program," stated Dr. Mugheer Al Khaili, the department chairman. We think that the cornerstone of a prosperous society is the establishment of a stable and harmonious family. These programs demonstrate our dedication to improving Emirati families' quality of life by offering all-encompassing assistance that reduces social and financial responsibilities.
He went on, "The (Emirati family Growth) Program aims to encourage young people who are about to get married by offering them useful solutions that help them overcome any financial obstacles they may have. It is founded on our real values inherited from our heritage and traditions.
In order to apply and examine the terms and conditions of each initiative, citizens who wish to profit from the ones that are available are encouraged to use the "madeem" electronic platform, which is where they may also submit their applications.
