Dubai: Parking Fees Unchanged at Mall of Emirates, City Centre Deira, Mirdif
Major Dubai mall and retail operator Majid Al Futtaim has stated that parking charges at its well-known malls including the Mall of Emirates, City Centre Deira, and City Centre Mirdif will not be rising.
This guarantees comes from a recent alliance with Parkin, a top supplier of paid public parking spaces, Without changing the existing parking rates, the five-year contract with Parkin seeks to bring a barrierless parking system at these malls from January 2025.
Majid Al Futtaim Asset Management's CEO, Khalifa Bin Braik, underlined that parking's pricing approach would stay same. Visitors of the Mall of Emirates will keep enjoying free parking for the first four hours. Likewise, the first three hours at City Centre Deira will remain free; visitors will be able to validate their parking tickets if they visit any of the retailers, therefore negating any parking charges. City Centre Mirdif will keep giving totally free parking. Bin Braik said that although some City Centre Mirdif VIP areas now feature parking barriers, these will be taken down once Parkin takes over.
Rather than raising fees, the main objective of the cooperation with Parkin is to enhance parking management, therefore improving its efficiency and usability. Bin Braik underlined Majid Al Futtaim's dedication to keep a clear and consistent pricing strategy so that customers would not have to pay more for parking.
With 29 shopping centres spread over five countries in Majid Al Futtaim's portfolio, the Mall of Emirates stands out as its flagship development. The business teamed with Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) earlier this year to start major road repairs surrounding the Mall of Emirates. These improvements provide direct access to the mall via a new flyover, therefore simplifying traffic flow—especially for drivers heading from Abu Dhabi. Given the road improvements, the mall estimates a 15-20% increase in vehicle flow, hence Bin Braik pointed out that these are really vital improvements. The Mall of Emirates usually handles about 30,000 vehicles on weekdays; weekends bring a count of 36,000.
Apart from cutting consumer travel times, especially for those arriving from Abu Dhabi, the intended road upgrades would help to ease traffic congestion near the mall. Bin Braik clarified that traffic delays could cause a travel from Abu Dhabi to the Mall of Emirates to take up to 10 minutes more initially, but this time will be much shortened once the modifications are finished.
The new arrangement with Parkin has as one of its main innovations barrierless parking technology. With high-tech cameras, this sophisticated system will automatically record license plates as vehicles enter and leave the car parks, therefore relieving drivers of the need to stop and gather citations. The new approach is supposed to ease traffic, especially during peak hours, so giving guests better parking experience. Saving time spent at parking gates will help customers to spend more time savoring the mall experience, particularly on public holidays and busy weekends.
Depending on traffic, Bin Braik pointed out this invention might save guests anything from 20 seconds to several minutes each journey. He also said that this initiative complements Majid Al Futtaim's larger goal of improving consumer experience and convenience over all of its properties. Looking ahead, the business is willing to investigate related technologies for other properties in its portfolio so that consumers always stay central in its activities.
