Emirates announces delays of up to 24 hours
Flights from the UAE were impacted when Typhoon Bebinca made landfall in Shanghai. There have been delays on two Etihad flights from Abu Dhabi and numerous Emirates planes from Dubai.
Emirates provided a travel update, listing the affected flights by typhoon and their anticipated departure time.
Flight timings
- EK302—which was supposed to leave Dubai for Shanghai on September 15—will now leave Dubai at 02.50 am on September 16 due to a 24-hour delay.
- EK304, which was supposed to leave Dubai for Shanghai on September 15th, has been postponed by 19 hours and will now leave Dubai at 04:35 on September 16th.
- EK303, which was supposed to leave Shanghai for Dubai on September 16 but is now scheduled to depart at 5 p.m. on September 17, has been delayed by 16 hours and 55 minutes.
- EK305, which was initially meant to leave Shanghai for Dubai on September 16, will now leave Shanghai at 7 p.m. on September 16 after being delayed by 11 hours and 45 minutes.
- EK302, which was supposed to leave Dubai for Shanghai on September 16 at 7 a.m., has been postponed by 4 hours and 10 minutes.
- EK303 (originally scheduled for September 17): Shanghai to Dubai will now depart from Shanghai at 9 a.m. on September 17 due to an 8 hours and 55 minute delay.
- EK305 (originally scheduled for September 17): Shanghai to Dubai will now depart from Shanghai at 11:15 a.m. on September 17 due to a 4 hour delay.
The airline promised to rebook the impacted guests and provide them with an adjusted schedule.
According to Emirates, it is "monitoring the situation closely" and regrets the inconvenience it caused.

In order for passengers to obtain the most recent information about their flights, the airline also recommended clients to make sure that their contact data are current.
Etihad Airways said in a travel update that there might be an issue with the Abu Dhabi-Shanghai route. As of right now, EY862, which was supposed to leave Abu Dhabi for Shanghai at 9.45 p.m. on September 15, has been delayed by more than nine hours and is currently anticipated to leave at 7.10 a.m. on September 16.
After being delayed for more than three hours, flight EY867 from Shanghai to Abu Dhabi is now expected to depart Shanghai at 10.20 p.m. on September 16, instead of 6.55 p.m. on the original schedule.
Etihad has declared that they are keeping a careful eye on everything.
