The UAE has formally published the public sector holiday dates in anticipation of the upcoming Eid Al Fitr celebrations.

Federal government employees will be off from 1st to 3rd Shawwal 1446 AH, with work resuming on 4th Shawwal.

Eid Al Fitr will be extended by one day if Ramadan lasts 30 days, since the United Arab Emirates has proclaimed Sunday, March 30, to be a public holiday.  Only announcements from the official moon sighting committee will be able to determine this.

"The 30th day of Ramadan will be observed as an extra public holiday, extending the Eid Al-Fitr break, if the Holy Month of Ramadan ends with 30 days remaining."

So what does this mean in Gregorian calendar terms?

The Eid Al Fitr holiday is probably going to fall between Sunday, March 30, and Tuesday, April 1, 2025, if Ramadan is a 29-day month.
