Dubai Police confiscate 26 vehicles for loud noises and illegal modifications
Responding quickly to unlawful vehicle modifications generating major noise problems in residential areas, Dubai Police have Authorities confiscated three motorbikes and twenty-three vehicles from drivers who had modified their vehicles in ways that resulted in loud engine noises, mostly in the Al Khawaneej region, within a 24-hour period. Detail of the operation were revealed by Maj-Gen Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police. With 24 fines issued overall, he confirmed that the offenders had received traffic fines. Moreover, the authorities enforced strict fines, saying that the degree of the changes and the disturbance made would determine the cost to release an impounded car could be as high as Dh10,000.
