Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Increases Jiu-Jitsu Championship Prizes

Abu Dhabi's Crown Prince announces a prize increase for the jiu-jitsu championship, aiming to promote sports and improve life quality through healthy competition.
His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi's Crown Prince and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has announced an increase in the prize pool for the Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship to 3 million dirhams.
This initiative reflects His Highness's commitment to supporting sports talents and enabling athletes to hone their skills through motivation in a competitive environment that adheres to the highest professional standards. The move also aims to strengthen the presence of jiu-jitsu as an effective means to enhance quality of life, given its positive impact on character building, self-discipline, and promoting mental and physical wellness.
The Jiu-Jitsu Federation has announced that the fourth round of the Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship for the "Gi" category will commence tomorrow, Friday, at the Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi. The event will feature extensive participation from elite players and academies throughout the UAE. The championship will host diverse competitions over three days, starting with junior, adult, and master's categories on the first day. Competitions for under-14 and under-16 categories will follow on the second day, with the event concluding on the third day with matches for the under-14 youth and cadet categories. Abdel Moneim Al Hashemi, President of the UAE and Asian Jiu-Jitsu Federations and First Vice President of the International Jiu-Jitsu Federation, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for this generous support.
He noted that the step underscores His Highness's dedication to the growth and development of the national jiu-jitsu project in the UAE. It also boosts the responsibility of the federation's board to translate this support into programs that encourage athletes' progress and provide optimal conditions for achieving sustainable sports and societal success.
Al Hashemi added that jiu-jitsu has evolved beyond a mere competitive sport into a lifestyle that fosters public health and promotes a culture of sport as a means to enhance life quality in the UAE. He noted that the championship has become a national project, elevating Abu Dhabi's status as a global center for combat sports and contributing to its societal influence, reflecting the UAE’s commitment to promoting and developing specialized sports and expanding their global reach.
