Bayfront is a result of a substantial investment effort by the Eastern Region Municipality together with private sector partners. Covering an area of over 100,000 square meters, Bayfront features an array of amenities, including:

  • Public squares and landscaped areas
  • A sports promenade
  • Modern cafés and restaurants
  • Designated zones for beach activities
  • Environmentally friendly infrastructure

The initiative aims to enhance the livability of waterfront spaces, providing locals and tourists with diverse recreational and cultural opportunities.

Mayor Fahad Aljubair of the Eastern Region Municipality praised the project, highlighting it as a reflection of Saudi leadership's dedication to enhancing public spaces and bolstering the tourism economy. He emphasized that Bayfront is not only a recreational hotspot but also a vital contributor to sustainable development and economic diversification in the region.

The Blue Flag programme, a globally recognised award managed by the Foundation for Environmental Education and headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, requires rigorous compliance with environmental, educational, safety, and accessibility standards to merit the award.
