Bahrain Enforces Summer Outdoor Work Ban to Protect Workers

Bahrain announces a summer ban on outdoor work to protect workers from heat, with fines for violators.
Bahrain will implement a ban on outdoor work from June 15 to September 15, prohibiting activities in direct sunlight or open areas between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. This measure aims to protect workers during summer's intense heat and high humidity.

The ban is in accordance with international labor standards, aiming to reduce occupational illnesses and injuries. Violators may face imprisonment for up to three months and fines between BD500 to BD1,000 ($1,325-$2,650), or both.
The Ministry of Labour has made thorough preparations for enforcing the ban. This includes organizing awareness workshops with safety officers and supervisors from private sector firms and distributing educational materials online to warn workers about the dangers of heat stress and midday sun exposure.
A hotline (32265727) has been set up for public reporting of any violations during the restriction period.
