The Ministry of Interior has expressed strong appreciation for the community initiative demonstrated by citizens and residents who voluntarily surrendered unlicensed weapons during the exceptional grace period, reflecting a high level of security awareness and commitment to the law.

Brigadier Nasser Bousleib, Director General of the General Department of Security Relations and Media and official spokesperson of the Ministry, stated during the daily media briefing that the Ministry extends sincere gratitude to everyone who participated, emphasizing that this positive response embodies genuine national responsibility.

Bousleib explained that surrendering unlicensed weapons plays a critical role in correcting legal statuses and strengthening the overall security framework of the country, particularly amid current conditions that require unified efforts between authorities and the public.

Colonel Othman Al-Ghareeb, Director of the Security Media Department, confirmed that communication with police stations across all governorates revealed strong engagement and clear responsiveness to the Ministry’s initiative, describing it as a form of active community partnership in reducing risk sources.

In a statement to Al-Akhbar channel, Al-Ghareeb reiterated the Ministry’s appreciation for all participants, noting that the initiative reflects a high degree of public awareness and national responsibility, with a significant segment of society benefiting from the grace period to regularize their legal standing.
