Matar Saeed Al Nuaimi Director General of the Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Centre in Abu Dhabi has stressed that rapid response during the first minutes after hearing any warning siren is critical for protecting lives and minimizing potential risks He explained that immediate compliance with official instructions issued by authorities is a fundamental element of the United Arab Emirates’ public safety framework noting that the procedures implemented in such situations are internationally recognized precautionary measures designed to reduce risks to the lowest possible level and ensure the safety of the community in any emergency scenario that may require a coordinated and swift response.
Al Nuaimi emphasized that members of the public must strictly follow safety guidelines and remain in secure locations whenever an official alert is issued He pointed out that organized compliance with instructions without personal improvisation represents a key pillar in effective crisis management He also clarified that community readiness should not be interpreted as a cause for fear or anxiety but rather as a sign of awareness discipline and responsible behavior adding that cooperation and commitment from the public play a decisive role in supporting national efforts to strengthen public safety and protect social stability.
The Director General of the Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Centre in Abu Dhabi also outlined the steps individuals should take if a missile strike warning is heard He explained that people must immediately move to the nearest safe area inside the building and stay away from windows glass facades and open spaces whenever possible He further advised remaining in an interior protected location closing doors and waiting for official instructions confirming that the alert has ended noting that strict adherence to these procedures significantly reduces potential danger and allows specialized authorities to manage the situation efficiently.
Al Nuaimi also warned against gathering in crowds attempting to film incidents or heading toward open areas out of curiosity explaining that such actions may endanger individuals and hinder the work of emergency teams He added that if any debris from a drone missile or suspicious object is spotted the public should immediately report it to the relevant authorities while completely avoiding approaching touching or photographing the object from a close distance He advised contacting designated national emergency numbers and providing authorities with the most accurate location details possible so specialized teams can respond safely and swiftly.
He further noted that the UAE’s emergency and crisis management system is built on a clear legislative and regulatory framework aimed at protecting the community and ensuring the safety of all residents under any circumstances Al Nuaimi explained that during the current period the primary focus is on public awareness and improving understanding of official safety guidance while continuously monitoring community compliance He also highlighted that authorities have observed a high level of awareness and discipline among residents reflecting strong mutual trust between society and official institutions and reaffirmed that the ultimate goal is prevention strengthening shared responsibility and ensuring that the safety and stability of the community remain the top priority.
