According to from the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), A low-pressure system has developed close to Oman's shores.
Advancing clouds over the eastern parts of the UAE have been shown by satellite photos, accompanied by light rain. Starting in the east and extending to some inland and western areas, the NCM reports that these clouds are projected to migrate across the nation during the next two days. The weather will probably deliver light to moderate rain; some places will see heavy rain.
With cumulus clouds building over eastern parts and extending to the inland and western regions, the NCM has also predicted that Thursday's weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times accompanied by rain. Ranging from light to moderate in speed, winds will be blowing from the southeast to the northeast, occasionally turning strong especially as the clouds start to show up. These winds could cause dust, therefore impairing visibility. With wave heights between 15 and 30 km/h and wind speeds in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman reaching up to 50 km/h, the sea conditions are predicted to be light to moderate.
With cumulus clouds developing in the eastern and western areas of the UAE, Friday's forecast is for partly overcast to gloomy weather. While winds will persist from the southeast to the northeast at rates akin to Thursday, rainfall is expected in these regions. The dust clouds could cause certain regions' visibility to keep being decreased. The sea will go through similar conditions; the Arabian Gulf will have moderate waves while the Sea of Oman will have smaller waves.
The NCM forecasts on Saturday that the weather will remain generally partially cloudy to cloudy at times with possible showers in some of the western areas. In coastal and interior areas, the temperature is likely to be humid late night and early Sunday morning. With speeds ranging between 10km/h and 25km/h, winds will change between southeasterly, northwesterly, and northeasterly occasionally reaching 35 km/h. The Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman will have light waves, hence the sea will be rather quiet.
Looking ahead to Sunday, the temperature is expected to continue partly cloudy to cloudy with rising humidity levels during the night and into Monday morning. In some coastal and interior locations, fog or light fog is likely to develop, Though they stay light to moderate in pace, winds will keep moving between southeasterly and northwesterly and can become vigorous, From 10 km/h to 25km/h, wind speeds will go up to 35km/h. The sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman should continue calm, with light waves.
Fishermen in Fujairah have responded to the tropical environment in the Arabian Sea by acting preventively. According to NCM reports, the tropical system would indirectly affect the UAE, mostly producing minor water surges along select coastal regions and rough seas, Head of the Fujairah Fishermen's Association Mahmoud Hassan Suleiman Al Ali revealed that 60% of the emirate's fishermen stopped fishing to guarantee the safety of their boats and gear. About thirty percent of fishermen have decided to stay along the coast, maintaining their three nautical mile fishing operations to evade the choppy waves.
Al Ali underlined that throughout this period of erratic weather, the fishermen are using normal safety procedures. Although the tropical conditions are likely to have a minor and indirect influence, preventative actions have been made along the beaches of Kalba and Khorfakkan. Along these beaches, authorities have set red and yellow flags designating safe swimming areas and pointing beachgoers toward safety. Given the projected low consequences of the tropical system, the association has not directed boat evacuation from marinas.
Together with the NCM's weather forecasts, preventive actions by officials and fishermen will help to lessen the effect of the uncertain weather on UAE coastal towns.
