The Kuwait Criminal Court, presided over by Judge Naif Al-Dahoum, has sentenced an Indian expatriate to death after convicting him of murdering his wife by repeatedly striking her with a hammer in Al-Salmi desert area, following ongoing marital disputes.
According to case details, the couple had frequent arguments over financial responsibilities, as the victim had repeatedly demanded that her husband contribute to household and food expenses, Investigations revealed that the defendant lured his wife to Al-Salmi, where he assaulted her with a hammer multiple times to the head, resulting in her death. Based on evidence and confessions, the court issued the capital punishment ruling.
In a separate security operation, and as part of intensified efforts by Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior, represented by the Criminal Security Sector, the General Department for Drug Control carried out a major security strike that thwarted an attempt to distribute large quantities of narcotics within the country.
Security intelligence indicated that two illegally residing suspects-one of whom is serving a life sentence in the central prison for drug trafficking-were managing a criminal operation to store and prepare narcotics for distribution.
A specialized security team was immediately formed and succeeded in arresting one suspect in West Abdullah Al-Mubarak, leading investigators to a desert camp in Al-Salmi used as a storage and preparation site.
A search of the location resulted in the seizure of large and varied quantities of narcotic substances, along with specialized tools and equipment used for drug preparation.
Authorities confirmed that the possession was intended for trafficking, and the suspects and seized items were referred to the competent investigative authorities for legal action.
The General Department for Drug Control reaffirmed that its security campaigns will continue around the clock, stressing that there will be zero tolerance toward anyone attempting to threaten public security or spread drugs within Kuwaiti society.
