The Kuwaiti daily newspaper Al-Nahar has reported that the Ministry of Interior has completed a comprehensive review of residency and visit visa fees. According to the publication, an official announcement regarding the revised fee structure is expected in the near future.
Citing informed sources, Al-Nahar stated that the annual residency fee for expatriate employees in both the public and private sectors will be set at 20 Kuwaiti dinars per year. The fee for foreign partners and investors is slated to increase to 50 dinars annually. Meanwhile, the cost of obtaining self-sponsorship residency ("Kafeel Nafsa") will rise significantly to 500 dinars each year.
Further details from unnamed sources indicate that family sponsorship fees under articles 18 and 17 will be raised to 20 dinars per individual per year. For those seeking family sponsorship under article 24 (self-sponsorship), the annual fee will amount to 100 dinars per person.
The anticipated ministerial decision will also introduce a new entry visa issuance fee of 10 Kuwaiti dinars per person for visit visas, according to the same sources.
