The Ministry of Defense of Kuwait has released new details regarding the defensive operations carried out by the Kuwaiti Armed Forces after hostile aerial targets attempted to penetrate the country’s airspace According to the official statement Colonel Saud Abdulaziz Al Atwan spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense confirmed that the Kuwaiti air defense systems detected a wave of hostile unmanned aerial vehicles approaching the national airspace The armed forces immediately activated advanced monitoring and interception systems to respond to the situation as part of the defensive measures aimed at protecting the country’s skies safeguarding national territory and ensuring the safety of citizens and residents while maintaining stability and security across the state.
The spokesperson explained that during the monitoring and tracking process the air defense systems successfully detected five hostile drones attempting to enter the country’s airspace Military units responded rapidly to these aerial threats and managed to intercept and destroy four of the drones before they could pose a direct threat while one drone eventually fell outside the designated threat zone after defensive measures were taken against it The ministry emphasized that these interception operations were carried out according to established military protocols designed to protect national airspace and neutralize potential threats before they reach critical areas within the country.
The Ministry of Defense also addressed reports from residents in several areas who heard loud explosion sounds during the defensive operations The General Staff of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces clarified that the explosions heard in certain locations were the result of air defense systems intercepting and destroying hostile aerial targets detected within the country’s airspace The statement explained that such sounds are a natural outcome of defensive interception operations carried out by military units to neutralize aerial threats before they can approach residential zones or sensitive infrastructure.
