Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior has announced a one-month extension for all types of visit visas, including commercial, family, and tourist categories, in a decision aimed at addressing exceptional circumstances currently affecting the country.
Colonel Othman Al-Ghareeb, Director of Security Media at the Ministry of Interior, stated during a televised interview on Kuwait TV that the extension comes in response to the ongoing situation and the closure of the airport, which has disrupted the ability of visitors to leave within their permitted stay periods.
He emphasized that the decision is driven by humanitarian considerations, ensuring that visitors and their sponsors do not face legal complications due to overstaying under conditions beyond their control.
The official confirmed that the extension applies to all visit visa types without exception, forming part of a broader effort to manage residency and visitor status in a flexible and temporary manner during the current period.
He also clarified that the renewal process will be carried out automatically without requiring individuals to visit the Residency Affairs Department, simplifying procedures and reducing the need for in-person interactions.
