The Kuwait Ministry of Interior has officially announced a comprehensive ban on aerial photography and the operation of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) across the country, citing current conditions affecting Kuwait and the wider region.

In its statement, the Ministry explained that the prevailing circumstances necessitate precautionary measures aimed at reinforcing security efforts and ensuring that field operations remain unaffected by any external interference.

According to the statement, the decision imposes a complete suspension of all aerial filming activities in all areas of the country until further notice.

The Ministry emphasized that such activities could have direct consequences that may hinder security procedures or disrupt the work of field teams performing critical duties. It further noted that unauthorized drone operations during this sensitive period could compromise the readiness of relevant authorities and impact their operational efficiency.

The Ministry confirmed that the decision takes immediate effect and forms part of proactive steps designed to strengthen national security and maintain stability.

It underscored that strict legal action will be taken against any individual or entity found violating the ban or disregarding the established regulations, in accordance with the laws and legal frameworks in force within the State of Kuwait.

This measure reflects a broader commitment to safeguarding public safety and preserving the integrity of ongoing field operations. By restricting aerial imaging and drone usage, authorities aim to prevent any potential disruption that could interfere with security coordination or operational deployment during this critical phase.

The Ministry reiterated that the primary objective of the ban is to protect active security efforts and ensure uninterrupted performance by specialized teams.

It called on citizens and residents alike to comply fully with the directive and cooperate with authorities, emphasizing that adherence to these regulations is essential to maintaining order, stability, and the effective execution of security responsibilities across the country.
