Part of the General Administration of Mujahideen, the new General Command Headquarters for Hajj and Umrah activities has been formally launched by Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee, at Muzdalifah.

Prince Abdulaziz was shown the new headquarters, which boasts the most recent in security and technological elements. These developments are meant to improve the capacity of the field teams and people of the Mujahideen thereby guaranteeing best service delivery to pilgrims.

On Saturday the minister also paid visits to the Holy Sites in Arafat and the General Transport Center of the Royal Commission for Makkah City. Officials included Minister of Transport and Logistic Services Saleh Al-Jasser welcomed him; also present were Deputy Minister Dr. Rumaih Al-Rumaih and CEO Eng. Saleh Al-Rasheed.

Prince Abdulaziz received briefing on the operation of the transportation system during the Hajj season this year. This covers operational control and planning; real-time data tools and live monitoring guarantee efficient bus management and seamless people mobility.

Crucially important for shuttle travel and route closure scheduling, the interior minister also looked at the interactive mapping of pilgrim paths between Mina and the Grand Mosque on Tashreeq days.

Working with more than ten government entities, the General Transport Center oversees the transportation system across Makkah and holy sites via shuttle services, therefore ensuring smooth Hajj operations.
