The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi has announced that UAE citizens holding ordinary passports - who are not residents or workers in India - are now eligible to receive a Visa on Arrival (VoA) at nine designated international airports across the country.
The visa allows dual entry and a stay of up to 60 days for purposes such as tourism, business, conferences, and medical treatment.
The airports offering the Visa on Arrival service include: Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kochi, and Calicut.
According to the embassy’s official website, eligible Emirati travelers must either hold a valid electronic visa (e-visa) or a visa affixed to their passport prior to entering India, regardless of any previous visits.
Their UAE passport must be valid for at least six months, and travelers must possess a confirmed return ticket or onward journey ticket.
Passengers are also required to complete the Visa on Arrival application form and the disembarkation card via the following link: indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/visa-on-arrival.html
The embassy noted that the Visa on Arrival fee is 2,000 Indian Rupees, or its equivalent in foreign currency, and applies to all travelers, including children.
The VoA permits a stay of up to 60 days and allows for two entries within this period if a dual-entry permit is issued.
