Official: You Can Now Sponsor Your Wife and Kids in a Single Application – Here is How
ABU DHABI – Sponsoring your family in the UAE just got significantly faster. The days of filling out separate forms for your spouse and each child-re-uploading the same documents over and over-are officially over.
The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) has launched the "Resident Family" service, a game-changing update designed to slash paperwork and save time for expats.
Part of the UAE's ambitious "Zero Bureaucracy" initiative, this new system streamlines the entire residency process. Here is what has changed.
One App, One Payment
Previously, heads of households had to treat every family member as a separate "case file."
The Old Way: Enter data for wife > Pay. Enter data for Child 1 > Pay. Enter data for Child 2 > Pay.
The New Way: A single application for the entire family unit.
How It Works
The ICP announced that the new unified service consolidates every step of the journey:
Unified Data Entry: You type the common details (sponsor info, address, etc.) only once.
Unified Uploads: Shared documents don't need to be uploaded multiple times.
Single Payment: One consolidated fee payment for all family members at the end of the process.
The Goal: Zero Bureaucracy
This move is a direct implementation of the UAE government's drive to eliminate unnecessary administrative hurdles. By integrating transactions, the authority aims to improve the quality of life for residents, allowing them to complete essential government services with fewer clicks and zero frustration.
The Takeaway: If your family's visa renewal is coming up, expect a much smoother, faster experience on the ICP app next time you log in.
