The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security has introduced a new multiple-entry visa for eligible individuals currently residing outside the UAE. This visa, valid for 180 days from the date of arrival, aims to streamline the process of obtaining the country’s newly launched Blue Residency.
The Blue Residency is the UAE’s first 10-year long-term residency tailored for individuals with exceptional contributions to environmental protection, sustainability, and clean and renewable energy, both locally and globally.
Targeted Categories and Sustainable Vision
Eligible applicants include outstanding influencers, distinguished scientists and researchers, entrepreneurs and investors, inventors and innovators, and experts in environmental fields, sustainability, clean energy, and climate change.
The authority emphasized that the Blue Residency service is available 24/7 through its official website and smart application, offering a seamless and efficient application experience in alignment with the UAE’s strategic sustainability goals.
Simple Application Process and Fast Processing Time
According to the authority’s website, applying for the visa involves five easy steps through the smart services system and the UAEICP app: filling out personal data, uploading required documents, paying the fees, submitting the application, and receiving the final response via email.
The application process takes approximately seven minutes, with service completion expected within one working day after fulfilling all requirements.
Required Documents:
• A passport copy valid for at least six months
• A recent color photograph
• Supporting documents proving eligibility for Blue Residency
First Batch of Blue Residency Recipients Announced
During the World Government Summit held last February, the Federal Authority and the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment unveiled the launch of the first phase of the Blue Residency program. As part of this phase, 20 leading thinkers and innovators in sustainability received the prestigious residency.
This new residency category builds upon the UAE’s Golden and Green Residency systems and reinforces the country’s position as a global hub for environmental innovation and sustainable development.
