The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship urges vigilance against misleading online service offers.

The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, along with Customs and Port Security, has issued a cautionary notice to all UAE citizens, residents, and prospective visitors. The authority advises individuals seeking services related to visiting or residing in the UAE to exercise caution and utilize authorized channels when applying for these services. It warned against being swayed by deceptive advertisements from unapproved offices or companies that promote their services through websites and social media platforms.

The authority emphasized that it provides its services through simplified procedures via official channels such as its website, smart application, as well as certified centers and typing offices across the country. They clarified that no additional facilities or advantages are extended to those offices or companies advertising expedited service delivery on social media merely to mislead clients into paying them without legal justification.

A warning was also issued regarding the growing prevalence of unauthorized electronic practices by certain accounts on social media and websites. These entities falsely advertise their capability to expedite government services provided by the authority without adhering to the established standards or criteria, often demanding exorbitant fees in return.

The authority asserted that these entities rely on deceptive marketing tactics aimed at exploiting users, damaging the authority's reputation, creating security vulnerabilities, and fostering an underground market which undermines fairness and transparency in service provision.

It further affirmed its ongoing monitoring of such suspicious activities in coordination with legal authorities within the country to initiate appropriate legal actions against them.
