In an official statement, Emirates Airlines announced a ban on carrying some devices inside the UAE airports, especially wireless pagers.

Emirates Airlines explained that these new decisions regarding devices prohibited from being carried inside the UAE airports and on all its flights also apply to checked baggage and cabin baggage.

The company added in its official statement today that these devices will be confiscated by Dubai Police, whether they are found in hand luggage or checked baggage.

It is worth noting that Emirates Airlines took this step in conjunction with many international airlines taking the same security measures, especially after dozens were killed and thousands injured after explosive-laden mobile communication devices used by Hezbollah were detonated across Lebanon in a series of incidents last September.

At the time of the incident, Hezbollah announced in an official statement that Israel was the cause of these explosions to synchronize the pagers, which are usually used by members of the Iranian-backed group to avoid surveillance.

For its part, the Civil Aviation Authority in Lebanon also announced a ban on carrying these devices, explaining that passengers will not be allowed to carry these devices on board flights.

Qatar Airways also announced a ban on carrying pagers and walkie-talkies on all its flights between Doha and Beirut last month.

In a brief statement, Qatar Airways confirmed that this ban applies to checked and carry-on baggage, as well as cargo, and will be implemented until further notice.

It is worth noting that many airlines have recently reduced flights to Beirut due to the significant escalation of events and the increasing unrest in the region.

This also applies to the United Arab Emirates, which announced that all Emirates flights to and from the Lebanese capital will be cancelled until October 15.

Emirates Airlines clarified in its latest statement on its official website that customers transiting through Dubai with Beirut as their final destination will not be allowed to travel to their point of departure until further notice.
