In a move aimed at enhancing the quality of education, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has announced the suspension of school inspections for all private schools in Dubai during the 2025–2026 academic year.

However, the decision excludes newly established private schools that have completed three academic years of operation. These schools will undergo a full inspection for the first time.

Although comprehensive inspections will be paused, KHDA will continue to monitor school performance through focused visits that address key quality-related aspects. These visits will be guided by the priorities of the “Education Strategy 33” and informed by feedback from the broader school community.

The authority emphasized the continued importance of conducting regular external benchmark assessments to ensure academic progress among students. Schools are also expected to submit periodic updates through self-evaluation reports.

Fatma Ibrahim Belrehif, CEO of the Dubai Schools Inspection Bureau at KHDA, stated that this pause offers an opportunity for reflection and collaboration on how to best support education quality. She reaffirmed that through ongoing engagement and school visits, every child in Dubai will benefit from high-quality learning aligned with the visionary goals of the leadership and the Education Strategy 33.
