Dubai's Roads Authority introduces 'Tadreeb,' a digital platform designed to streamline driver education through AI integration.

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority has launched the "Tadreeb" digital platform to enhance the training of new drivers. This initiative connects all driving schools within the city, facilitating the digitalization of training processes and automating trainee assessments and information.

Ahmad Mahboob, CEO of the Licensing Agency at the authority, explained in a press statement that this platform aims to identify trainees' needs through data analysis. The goal is to ensure superior driver training and licensing of highly skilled professionals, thereby contributing to top safety standards, improved performance quality, and governance according to global best practices.

The platform integrates advanced artificial intelligence technologies, spanning over 27 training locations with more than 3,400 instructors and upwards of 3,000 training vehicles. These resources are digitally tracked to serve approximately 250,000 trainees annually across more than six million training hours within a comprehensive paperless system.

Key outcomes from this platform include enhancing training quality, increasing transparency in assessments, reducing fatalities among new drivers, supporting decision-making through smart monitoring dashboards, fully automating performance evaluation criteria and transactions by 100%, as well as cutting permit processing times by half. It also aims to reduce operational costs while boosting remote oversight via the Smart Licensing Center and achieving a 97% compliance rate among instructors for various training phases.

This pioneering platform is globally recognized as it received acknowledgment from the International Commission for Driver Testing (CIECA) and was awarded the Prince Michael International Road Safety Award this year. Ahmad Mahboob highlighted ongoing collaborations with strategic partners to ensure safe and reliable driver training services.

Looking ahead, future plans for Tadreeb involve enhancing AI tools to improve user experiences further, personalizing trainings through data analytics, and automating governance over training processes. This ensures sustainability and boosts overall system efficiency.
