The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has successfully completed a series of traffic improvements across ten school zones, impacting 27 schools throughout the emirate.

This initiative aligns with the RTA's strategy to enhance the efficiency and fluidity of Dubai’s road network, particularly in areas surrounding schools.

The projects were strategically implemented during the summer break to minimize disruptions to daily traffic and ensure that high safety standards are upheld at targeted sites.

The completed work primarily focused on school areas such as Al Warqa'a First, Third, and Fourth, Al Safa First, Al Barsha First, Garhoud, Al Mizhar First and Fourth, Al Qusais, and South Barsha.

Notable improvements included widening roads leading to the Al Warqa’a school complex; creating parking spaces for teaching staff and parents in Al Mizhar and Al Barsha; constructing entrances and exits for several schools in both Al Mizhar and Al Warqa’a; installing pedestrian signals; and implementing calming measures in neighborhoods close to schools.

These traffic solutions have enhanced the road network while maintaining infrastructure quality across Dubai. These accomplishments reflect the authority's commitment to embodying visionary leadership directives that harmonize with urban development growth.

The improvements cater especially to road users such as teaching staff, bus drivers, parents driving students, thereby ensuring safety for all road users in Dubai's streets.

The enhancements resulted in a 90% increase in parking capacity at several schools and improved traffic flow around some school areas by between 25% and 40%. These achievements underscore ongoing efforts to develop infrastructure within Dubai and elevate traffic efficiency around educational institutions.

In urging compliance with traffic safety regulations when dropping off or picking up students from schools, the RTA called on bus drivers and parents to use designated drop-off zones responsibly.

They emphasized avoiding random parking in spots reserved for individuals with disabilities or emergency vehicles.

Further instructions included stopping at school bus signs or boards, staying alert to student movements near schools, reducing speed appropriately, and obeying all relevant signage.
