Dubai Police has issued a strong warning to citizens and residents against spreading or sharing rumors and misleading information, stressing that any content contradicting officially announced facts or causing public fear is considered a direct violation of the law.

The authority emphasized that this warning comes as part of its commitment to safeguarding public security and maintaining social order, in addition to protecting public health from the harmful impact of false or inaccurate information.

In an official post on the platform X, Dubai Police confirmed that individuals involved in creating or circulating such content will face strict legal accountability, noting that digital platforms are closely monitored by relevant authorities.

Officials clarified that penalties for these violations may include imprisonment, along with financial fines starting from AED 200,000, as part of a firm approach to deter actions that threaten community stability or harm the public interest.

Dubai Police urged the public to rely solely on official sources for information and to act responsibly when sharing content online, ensuring a safe and trustworthy digital environment free from rumors and misinformation.
