In a concerted effort to improve the daily commuting experience, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai, in collaboration with Keolis-MHI, has completed an extensive upgrade of wayfinding signage across all metro stations.

This initiative aims to enhance passenger satisfaction and streamline navigation across the city's Red and Green Metro lines, as well as the Dubai Tram.

The project saw approximately 9,000 signs installed or replaced, demanding around 11,000 work hours. Modernized from entry points to platforms, these signs now provide clearer directions to improve passenger flow throughout the network.

The newly installed exit signs feature bright yellow boxes for increased visibility. Additionally, floor stickers and directional markers have been updated to better guide commuters to their destinations.

Enhancing Passenger Comfort

Beyond wayfinding enhancements, RTA’s upgrades emphasize commuter etiquette and comfort. Stations now display new behavioral messages that remind users about proper public transport conduct.

These visual cues are intended to foster a more pleasant commuting atmosphere.

The revamped system includes pink and gold markers indicating the Women and Children Cabin and Gold Class Cabin respectively.

These updates replace older floor markings and aim to deter unauthorized use while ensuring priority passengers travel comfortably.

A Comprehensive Digital Integration

Hassan Al Mutawa, Director of Rail Operations at RTA’s Rail Agency, highlighted the project's alignment with RTA’s strategy to elevate public transport standards in Dubai.

“Our comprehensive plan is designed for seamless and intuitive commuting,” he remarked.

The overhaul extends beyond physical signage; it also permeates RTA’s digital services. Updates are reflected in mobile apps, onboard train announcements, platform notifications, and social media channels to ensure uniform guidance at all interaction points.

This initiative reinforces Dubai Metro's status as one of the world's most efficient transit systems-a reputation further bolstered by Akhbrna News recognizing its impact on easing urban mobility challenges.
