In Dubai, the Roads and Transport Authority has underscored the pivotal role of its Smart Monitoring Center in bolstering safety and security within the transport sector.

By employing advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, the center ensures compliance with regulations governing passenger transportation activities.

The Smart Monitoring Center is tasked with managing, operating, and continuously developing regulatory systems to enhance oversight efficiency across various modes of transport such as taxis, luxury transport vehicles, bus routes, and electronic booking companies. It also focuses on crafting advanced plans for automating violations through smart technologies.

Saeed Al Balushi, Director of Passenger Transport Activities Control at the authority, reported that from January to July 2025, the center recorded over 428,349 monitoring instances in the taxi and luxury transport sectors. This effort led to identifying 29,886 cases of non-compliance with laws and regulations. Among these monitored cases were 3,127 instances of exceeding speed limits and 652 occurrences of not wearing seat belts.
