The Ministry of Interior in the Kingdom of Bahrain has announced that the Anti Cybercrime Directorate within the General Directorate of Anti Corruption Economic and Electronic Security successfully arrested six individuals after they were found to be involved in publishing video clips and online content related to the effects of what authorities described as the malicious Iranian aggression The individuals were accused of sharing materials that expressed sympathy with the attacks and glorified hostile actions while also spreading false information and inciting the targeting of locations within the Kingdom of Bahrain These videos were circulated through their personal social media accounts which authorities said could mislead public opinion and create fear among citizens and residents while negatively affecting public security and stability.
According to the Ministry of Interior officials closely monitored the content published by the suspects on several social media platforms where the videos and posts were shared The authorities indicated that the circulated materials contained misleading information linked to ongoing regional developments which had the potential to spread confusion and panic among members of the public The ministry emphasized that publishing or promoting false information or encouraging acts that threaten national security constitutes a violation of the laws and regulations in force in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The ministry explained that the Anti Cybercrime Directorate continues to conduct intensive monitoring of digital platforms as part of broader efforts aimed at protecting society from cyber related crimes and the spread of misleading online content Authorities stressed that digital monitoring operations are designed to detect any content that could threaten public stability promote violence or disseminate inaccurate information capable of undermining national security and social cohesion within the country.
Officials further stated that after verifying the information and gathering sufficient evidence the necessary legal procedures were taken against the individuals involved in the case The six suspects were arrested and referred to the Public Prosecution in order to complete legal investigations and proceed with the appropriate judicial measures in accordance with Bahraini laws ensuring accountability for those responsible for spreading misleading information or encouraging acts that could threaten the safety and security of the nation.
The Ministry of Interior also stressed the importance of responsible behavior when using social media platforms and urged all members of the community to avoid sharing or circulating unverified videos or news that may originate from unreliable sources Such content can easily mislead the public and contribute to the spread of rumors that may affect the stability of society.
In its statement the ministry called on citizens and residents to rely exclusively on official sources when seeking information about ongoing events and to refrain from reposting or distributing unconfirmed news or video clips circulating online Authorities warned that sharing such material could expose individuals to legal accountability under the laws of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The ministry concluded by emphasizing that protecting national security and maintaining public order is a shared responsibility that requires cooperation between the community and official authorities along with strict adherence to the laws and regulations designed to safeguard the Kingdom of Bahrain from misinformation and actions that could threaten its stability and security.
