Bahrain’s Electricity and Water Authority announced on Sunday that the recent attack targeting a desalination plant in the kingdom did not affect water supplies or the operational capacity of the national network.

The authority confirmed that water services continue to operate normally and that the country’s infrastructure remains capable of meeting demand.

The announcement came after reports indicated that the desalination facility had been targeted by a drone attack.

Earlier statements from Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior confirmed that the Iranian attack caused material damage to the plant, but authorities emphasized that the incident did not disrupt water production or distribution across the country.

Meanwhile, the General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force stated that air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed a large number of aerial threats that targeted the kingdom during recent attacks.

According to the statement, Bahrain’s air defense units responded to successive waves of hostile strikes aimed at penetrating the country’s airspace.

Officials reported that a total of 243 aerial threats have been intercepted and destroyed since the start of the Iranian attacks. This figure includes 92 ballistic missiles and 151 drones that were launched toward Bahrain.

Authorities noted that these defensive operations were carried out to safeguard the kingdom’s airspace and protect its security and stability.

In a separate development, three people were reported injured and material damage occurred to a university building in the Muharraq area after missile debris fell in the vicinity.

Emergency services responded to the incident while authorities assessed the damage and ensured the safety of residents and nearby facilities.

The Bahrain Defence Force emphasized that its air defense systems remain fully operational and continue to confront ongoing waves of hostile attacks.

The command also praised the readiness and professionalism of its personnel, highlighting the high level of operational capability demonstrated by the armed forces in protecting the kingdom and its citizens.
