The Bahrain Defence Force has issued a new directive prohibiting the filming, recording, or publishing of any content related to military operations, troop deployments, or the movement of military vehicles and defense systems across the country.
According to the official statement, the measure aims to safeguard the security and stability of the Kingdom of Bahrain amid the current exceptional circumstances and the ongoing regional developments affecting the country.
Military authorities explained that the decision was taken to ensure the protection of national security and prevent sensitive information related to defense operations from being exposed or misused.
The ban covers a wide range of content, including photographs, video recordings, audio clips, or any form of information that may reveal details about military locations, operational activities, or defensive measures being carried out by Bahrain’s armed forces.
Officials emphasized that the restriction also applies to the circulation or reposting of previously published materials related to military sites or operations.
In addition, the directive prohibits the dissemination of false or fabricated information generated through modern technologies, including manipulated media or misleading content concerning the attacks and security incidents affecting the country.
Authorities warned that such information could potentially compromise national security or facilitate the targeting of military facilities and strategic infrastructure.
The statement clarified that the ban applies to all forms of communication and publishing platforms, including traditional media outlets, digital platforms, and social media networks, whether the content is shared directly or indirectly.
The Bahrain Defence Force also stressed that violating these instructions constitutes a clear breach of national laws and regulations.
Legal action may be taken against individuals who fail to comply with the directive, in accordance with Article 17 bis of the Military Judiciary Law of 2002 and Article 135 of the Penal Code of 1976.
Authorities noted that these legal provisions allow for the prosecution of anyone who publishes information that could endanger military operations or threaten national security.
In its statement, the Bahrain Defence Force urged citizens and residents to act responsibly and cooperate with national authorities by strictly following the issued instructions.
The military leadership also encouraged the public to rely exclusively on official government sources for accurate updates regarding ongoing developments.
Finally, authorities advised residents to avoid approaching military locations or convoys and to stay away from affected areas in order to support national efforts aimed at protecting the country and ensuring the safety of everyone living in Bahrain.
