In an unprecedented move to encourage drivers to strictly follow traffic laws, the UAE Ministry of Interior, through the Federal Traffic Council and in cooperation with police departments across the country, has announced the launch of the “No Accidents Day” initiative. This event coincides with the start of the new academic year on August 25, 2025.
The big surprise? Any driver who commits to following traffic rules and pledges not to commit any violations on this day will receive an immediate deduction of 4 traffic points from their record. The deduction will be applied electronically on September 15, 2025, without the need to visit any service center.
How to Participate and Get the Deduction?
Drivers wishing to benefit from the initiative must sign the pledge through the official link:
and fully commit to several rules, including:
- Wearing the seatbelt at all times while driving.
- Not exceeding the speed limit.
- Maintaining a safe distance.
- Respecting pedestrian priority and giving way to emergency vehicles.
- Avoiding phone use while driving.
Why August 25?
The date was chosen for a reason-it marks the first day of school, making it a perfect opportunity to promote road safety awareness and protect students and children from road hazards.
Brigadier Engineer Hussein Ahmed Al Harithi, Chairman of the Federal Traffic Council, stressed that the initiative aims to enhance positive driving behavior and turn traffic compliance into a long-term societal culture-not just a temporary commitment.
A Message to the Community
The Ministry of Interior calls on everyone to engage with the initiative and spread the word among friends and family, as safer roads can only be achieved through everyone’s commitment.
Will you be among the drivers who earn safety… and a 4-point deduction on the same day?
