The Dubai Police Anti-Fraud Center, part of the General Department of Criminal Investigation, has issued a warning to the public regarding the growing number of fraudulent job advertisements circulating on social media and various online platforms, promising part-time jobs with attractive salaries.
Coinciding with Cybersecurity Awareness Month, Dubai Police emphasized that these deceptive ads are merely tactics used by fraudsters to lure victims and exploit them in illegal activities, such as opening bank accounts under their names, transferring suspicious funds, or engaging in other fraudulent schemes.
The center urged community members to exercise extreme caution and verify the credibility of any employer before applying for jobs online. It also advised the public not to share personal or banking details with unknown parties and to avoid offers that require money transfers or access to private accounts. Suspicious advertisements should be reported immediately through the eCrime platform or by calling 901.
Dubai Police stressed that public awareness is the first line of defense against cyber fraud, warning that falling victim to these scams could lead to serious consequences, including legal accountability if personal data is misused for unlawful purposes.
