Ajman has witnessed a significant surge in business activity during the first half of 2025, marked by a remarkable 37% increase in new professional licenses, according to recent data released by the emirate’s Department of Economic Development.
The Ajman Competitiveness Office highlighted an overall 24% rise in new licenses across various sectors. This includes an impressive 11% uptick in industrial licenses and a substantial 9% growth in commercial ones.
Licenses renewed year-on-year also saw positive movement, climbing by 8%, with both industrial and commercial renewals experiencing a 9% increase, and professional renewals rising by 8%.
Ajman's Thriving Business Landscape
The emirate's business environment attracted more first-time investors, recording a notable 24% increase compared to the previous year. This influx contributed to an overall rise of 8% in active licenses since the beginning of 2025.
A noteworthy development was Ethiopia and Sudan making their debut on Ajman’s list of top ten nationalities for license holders. This milestone underscores the emirate’s growing international appeal and its increasingly diverse investor demographic.
Saif Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the Department of Economic Development, remarked: “These results affirm Ajman’s success as a preferred destination for investment and entrepreneurship through its business-friendly policies and efficient procedures.”
The statistics underscore Ajman’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its business landscape, diversifying investor participation, and boosting competitiveness as part of the UAE’s broader economic strategy for growth.
