Ajman introduces its smart "Green Wave" system on key streets, streamlining traffic flow and advancing sustainability as part of its Vision 2030.

In a significant move towards enhancing infrastructure and improving traffic flow, the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department has rolled out the smart "Green Wave" system on Sheikh Zayed Street in the Al Helio area and Sheikh Ammar Street in Ajman. This initiative aligns with Ajman's Vision 2030, aiming to establish an integrated and sustainable transportation system.

Engineer Khamis Salem Al Matrooshi, Director of Operations and Maintenance at the Roads and Infrastructure Department, emphasized that the implementation marks a pivotal shift towards achieving smoother traffic movement. The system is designed to minimize frequent stops at traffic signals, thereby reducing travel time while supporting environmental sustainability by lowering fuel consumption and emissions.

Al Matrooshi further noted that the municipality is dedicated to leveraging smart technologies and systems to enhance residents' satisfaction as well as road users', ensuring quicker, safer access to desired destinations.

This development is part of a comprehensive plan to upgrade and interlink all traffic signal intersections through an intelligent network using cutting-edge global technologies.

The system aims to synchronize traffic lights intelligently, allowing vehicles to pass through multiple intersections without stopping when adhering to the designated speed limit. This approach helps in alleviating traffic congestion and ensuring smooth vehicular movement around the clock.
