A minor earthquake measuring 3.5 magnitudes was recorded in Al Sila’, Abu Dhabi with no damages reported.
On Wednesday, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) of the UAE reported a mild earthquake of magnitude 3.5 occurring in Al Sila’, located within the Al Dhafra region. Authorities have confirmed that there has been no damage or injuries resulting from this seismic event.
The tremor was detected inland at 10:17 local time, according to officials, who noted its minor nature and reassured the public about the absence of any structural harm.
The NCM, committed to monitoring seismic activities for national safety, records such occurrences even though the UAE is not on a major fault line. However, these low-intensity tremors occasionally happen.
Recently, a similar minor earthquake with a magnitude of 2.0 was recorded in Khor Fakkan at 08:05 local time last week, also leaving no impact and remaining unfelt by residents.
In general, such small-scale seismic events do not threaten infrastructure or public safety, as stated by the NCM.
