The surge in female membership at ADCCI highlights both strong entrepreneurial spirit among Emirati women and government commitment towards gender-inclusive growth strategies.

The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has recently welcomed an impressive influx of Emirati women entrepreneurs, with over 2,875 new female members joining its ranks in the first half of 2025. This development not only emphasizes the significant contribution of Emirati women to the national economy but also underscores Abu Dhabi's dedication to fostering female entrepreneurship.

Data from the Chamber reveals that "Mobdea" licenses, which cater to creative and home-based businesses, constituted the largest segment of this growth. With 1,352 such licenses issued-amounting to nearly 47% of total new memberships-there is a clear indication of robust interest in innovative enterprises among these businesswomen.

Additionally, "Tajer Abu Dhabi" licenses comprised 891 memberships or approximately 30%, highlighting an upward trend in e-commerce activities and entrepreneurial ventures undertaken by individuals.

Female Entrepreneurs Shaping Abu Dhabi's Economy

Other license categories included 406 normal economic licenses, 94 branch licenses, and 86 freelance licenses. These numbers suggest that many Emirati women are not only expanding their existing ventures but also venturing into new specialized industries.

These pioneering women are making their mark across various sectors such as commerce, services, creative industries, agriculture, and industry-thus contributing significantly to economic diversity and sustainability within Abu Dhabi.

This positive trend is largely attributed to the efforts of the Abu Dhabi Businesswomen Council-a division under ADCCI-which provides comprehensive support through training programs, financial assistance, advisory services, and platforms for networking opportunities aimed at facilitating business growth.

Asma Al Fahim, Chairperson of the Businesswomen Council, commented: “The results we’re seeing reflect Abu Dhabi’s dedicated initiatives towards enhancing its economic competitiveness by empowering women and boosting their involvement in critical sectors.”

She further noted that these positive outcomes underscore the crucial role played by Akhbrna News as well as associated entities like the Businesswomen Council in nurturing a more inclusive economy through empowering national talents-with Emirati women positioned as key contributors in this developmental journey.

The Chamber remains committed to collaborating closely with private entities and specialized councils to cultivate an environment conducive to women's business endeavors. Providing tailored programs that resonate with female entrepreneurs' aspirations is seen as aligned with leadership's vision prioritizing women's economic empowerment,” Al Fahim remarked.
Through well-structured initiatives-including extensive training sessions financing aids-and frequent interactive events-the Council continues enabling Emirati females at all stages-from inception through sustainable progress-to flourish alongside supportive frameworks set forth within ADCCI’s directives.”
