At the same time that the deadline for settling the status of violators began on September 1 and will continue until October 31, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization announced that it would be providing four services to correct the violating employment conditions and exempting establishments from administrative fines.

This announcement was made in collaboration with the federal authority for identity, citizenship, Customs, and port security, and it was made under the slogan "Towards a safer society" for those individuals who committed violations prior to September 1, 2024.

Services provided by the Ministry: Issuing, renewing and canceling work permits

Among the services that are offered by the ministry are the issuance, renewal, and cancellation of work permits, as well as the registration of a work interruption complaint for the categories that are covered by the settlement period.

These categories include violaters of work and residence permits from individuals whose work or residence permits have expired, as well as individuals against whom a work interruption complaint is registered from the category of establishments or auxiliary labor.

It is anticipated that during the deadline, businesses will be excluded from administrative fines that are the result of offenses such as not supplying the ministry with the employment contract and not renewing work permits. This exemption will take effect.

Using its website, the ministry is able to receive requests to settle the status of violators. Additionally, the ministry's smart application can be downloaded from the Apple and Google Play stores, in addition to being available in Business Services offices and auxiliary labor recruitment offices all around the country.

In a press release, the ministry confirmed that it is prepared to receive applications and process them with the required speed and efficiency around the clock. This will be done in a manner that will assist the owners of these applications in taking the necessary steps to correct their situations within the framework of flexible and facilitated procedures. This is especially important in light of the fact that the ministry has been integrating services and eliminating a large number of documents and procedures as part of its efforts to reduce the amount of bureaucracy in its services.

In accordance with the provisions of the federal law on the entry and residence of foreigners and the law regulating Labor Relations in the country, the ministry issued a call to the workers and employers who had violated the law to take advantage of the deadline to rectify their situation. This would provide them with a fresh opportunity to continue their work in the country and overcome any previous violations. Alternatively, the ministry would allow the workers who had violated the law to leave the state without facing any legal consequences. In addition, they would be exempted from the financial fines that they had incurred.

Initiative to settle the situation of violators

The initiative to settle the status of violators is part of the humanitarian trends and values of tolerance, compassion, and community cohesion that are prevalent in the United Arab Emirates. The goal of this initiative is to provide exceptional support to violators and to make them happy by providing them with the opportunity to correct their violations and to continue their work, living, and families in the country within the framework of respect for the law.
