The United Arab Emirates is poised to unveil the petrol prices for September 2025 in the upcoming days. This decision comes after a slight decline in fuel costs last month, following a phase of price stability over recent months.
Currently, refueling your vehicle is notably more affordable than it was this time last year. Despite periodic fluctuations, every category of fuel has seen a reduction in price over the past year.
UAE Petrol Prices: September 2025 Outlook
As of August 2024, E-Plus 91 retailed at AED2.86 per litre and diesel was priced at AED2.95 per litre. This year, E-Plus 91's cost is considerably lower at AED2.50 per litre compared to the previous year's rates.
The prices for Special 95 and Super 98 have also decreased from AED2.93 to AED2.57 and from AED3.05 to AED2.69 per litre respectively over the same period.
Since August, the prices have been:
- E-Plus: Down slightly to AED2.50 per litre from July's AED2.51
- Special 95: Reduced to AED2.57 per litre from July's AED2.58
- Super 98: Decreased to AED2.69 per litre compared to July's rate of AED2.70
- Diesel: Climbed slightly to AED2.78 per litre from its previous rate of AED2.63
Back in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, petrol prices were frozen by the Fuel Price Committee, effectively preventing any adjustments during that period.
However, with rising global oil prices by March 2021, these controls were lifted allowing market dynamics once again influence petrol pricing strategies.
