The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has announced major updates regarding changing work contracts in the UAE, confirming that the UAE labor market is becoming more flexible while enforcing strict rules to regulate transitions between different work models across the UAE labor market.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation confirmed that changing work contracts in the UAE requires three mandatory conditions including full mutual consent between the employee and employer, complete settlement of all financial entitlements, and strict compliance with official procedures governing the UAE labor market.
The UAE labor market offers multiple work models including full-time, part-time, temporary, flexible, remote work, and job sharing, reflecting the strength and adaptability of the UAE labor market in handling economic and operational changes efficiently.
Regarding end of service benefits in the UAE, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation clarified that calculation depends on the ratio of working hours compared to full-time employment, while confirming that temporary work contracts in the UAE under one year are not eligible for end of service benefits.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation stressed the importance of occupational health and safety in the UAE labor market, warning that violations such as fraud, disclosure of confidential information, repeated absence, or misconduct may lead to immediate termination, while illegal work stoppages in the UAE labor market may result in imprisonment, fines, deportation, and job loss.
