Dubai International Airport has once again reaffirmed its position as the world’s busiest airport in October 2025, recording more than 5.35 million scheduled seats on international flights - equivalent to around 10.7 million seats in both directions, according to the latest report by global aviation data provider OAG.

The figures show a 4% year-on-year growth in seat capacity, highlighting the airport’s consistent upward trajectory throughout 2025. Dubai International has achieved record-breaking capacity levels this year, particularly during the summer peak, driven by new airlines joining the hub, the addition of fresh destinations, and increased frequencies to existing routes.

Throughout 2025, DXB exceeded five million monthly seats in every month except February, registering 5.3 million in January, 4.78 million in February, 5.16 million in March, 5 million in April, 5.2 million in May, 5.1 million in June, 5.28 million in July, 5.34 million in August, and 5.1 million in September.

Globally, London Heathrow ranked second with 4.2 million seats - more than a million behind Dubai - followed by Seoul Incheon with 3.7 million, Amsterdam Schiphol with 3.67 million, and Istanbul Airport with 3.66 million.

Dubai International also secured the second spot worldwide in total capacity (international and domestic combined), trailing just behind Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, which posted around 5.4 million seats in October. The gap between the two airports was a narrow 74,759 seats, underscoring the fierce competition for the title of the world’s busiest airport.

In addition, DXB marked a historic milestone in the first half of 2025, welcoming nearly 46 million passengers, the highest-ever midyear passenger traffic in its history.
