Dubai Customs has unveiled an extensive package of humanitarian and community initiatives to mark the holy month of Ramadan, reaffirming its long-standing commitment to fostering generosity, tolerance, and social responsibility.
The initiatives align with the department’s strategic plan and the objectives of the Year of the Family, in support of Dubai’s Social Agenda D33, reinforcing its institutional role in advancing sustainable community development across the emirate.
Among the flagship programs is the “Sawaed Al Furdah” initiative, implemented consistently for the past ten years.
Through this program, Dubai Customs distributes Iftar meals to motorists and road users shortly before the Maghrib call to prayer, embodying the spirit of compassion and solidarity that defines Ramadan.
The department also continues its “Ramadan Meer” initiative, aimed at supporting underprivileged families by providing essential supplies to help them meet their needs during the holy month.
Dubai Customs further organizes its dedicated Ramadan tent, designed not only as a venue for serving Iftar meals but also as a social and humanitarian space that strengthens bonds with working communities.
The initiative contributes to reinforcing social cohesion, promoting mutual support, and spreading joy among beneficiaries.
As part of its awareness programs, the department hosts community events, religious lectures, and educational activities throughout Ramadan, highlighting the virtues of the holy month and encouraging intergenerational dialogue.
Additionally, Dubai Customs organizes a collective Iftar banquet for senior citizens in cooperation with the Community Development Authority, reflecting its commitment to honoring and supporting this valued segment of society.
Dubai Customs emphasized that its Ramadan initiatives play a vital role in strengthening social solidarity and supporting those in need, while reinforcing its standing as a leading institution in corporate social responsibility.
The department noted that it continuously develops and expands these initiatives each year to maximize their social impact, in line with Dubai’s humanitarian and developmental vision.
Rashid Obaid Al Shard, Executive Director of the Financial and Administrative Affairs Sector at Dubai Customs, affirmed that these Ramadan programs represent a strategic extension of an integrated institutional approach that places social responsibility at the core of operations, further solidifying Dubai Customs’ role as an active partner in sustainable community development.
