Abu Dhabi-based AIQ enters Indonesia's energy market through an agreement with SKK Migas to implement its advanced reservoir technology.
Abu Dhabi's AIQ, a leader in artificial intelligence for the energy sector, is poised to make significant advancements in Indonesia's upstream oil and gas operations. The company has recently entered into an agreement with the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities of the Republic of Indonesia (SKK Migas) to deploy its Reservoir Performance Advisor (RPA) module from the Advanced Reservoir 360 (AR360) platform within the country.
AIQ Expands Into Indonesia's Energy Sector
The AR360 tool is renowned for its predictive capabilities and automation, offering a 75 percent increase in user productivity by enabling comprehensive reviews of reservoir models. It democratizes access to vital reservoir data by allowing team members to view information through a cloud-based dashboard. By integrating the RPA module, users can leverage machine learning and automation features seamlessly within their existing workflows.
Dennis Jol, CEO of AIQ, remarked: “Indonesia’s upstream sector presents unique challenges with mature fields necessitating sophisticated reservoir management. This agreement directly targets SKK Migas’ objectives to optimize production from current assets while reducing costs. It exemplifies how specialized AI applications can enhance field longevity and recovery rates.”
Jol further highlighted that this partnership marks a significant milestone in AIQ’s international expansion strategy, emphasizing their pride in bringing UAE-developed technological innovations to Indonesia as part of broader digital transformation efforts across the upstream industry.
The agreement also paves the way for joint endeavors in AI development, asset digitalization, and autonomous operations.
Dr. Djoko Siswanto, Head of SKK Migas, commented: “Our collaboration with AIQ underscores our dedication to fostering innovation and building a smarter, more resilient upstream sector. By harnessing advanced AI through strategic alliances, we aim to fortify national energy security, enhance operational efficiency, and elevate Indonesia as a regional leader in digital transformation.”
This new partnership enhances AIQ’s expanding global footprint following agreements with national energy companies in Kazakhstan and Colombia. In these regions too, their solutions are being utilized to streamline operations and accelerate digitalization.
AIQ has pioneered several groundbreaking initiatives including launching the world’s first Agentic AI solution for energy known as ENERGYai. Initially deployed across ADNOC’s upstream operations, AIQ continues developing AI tools that drive efficiency and generate value within the energy sector.
